TEST Spring 2023 Registration

Welcome to the New Year, and the 2022-23 Spring Semester, San José Symphonic Choir singers!

Registration will open on Monday, January 9th. Rehearsals begin on Sunday, January 15th at the Butterfly Church in Pacific Grove, and Monday, January 16th at Westminster Presbyterian Church in San José. We have a fun and exciting semester to look forward to!

Please see the instructions below for registering. You are encouraged to do so online, but may also register by printing out the form and sending it to the SJSC office by mail. If you are not able to register prior to the first rehearsals, you will be able to do so before rehearsal starts on January 15th and 16th.

Our first Spring concert will be a production of Haydn’s The Creation. The performance will be on Sunday April 2nd, at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Saratoga. We will once again be accompanied by the superb musicians of the San Jose Baroque Orchestra. For those of you who have never sung this work, it’s absolutely gorgeous, and a beautiful example of the Classical period of music. Hopefully you have all seen Leroy’s email with further information.

Our final concert for the 22-23 Season will be a collection of opera choruses and arias, and will take place on Sunday, June 4th, at the McAfee Performing Arts Center, Saratoga. The Nova Vista Symphony will accompany us. We have some treats in store for us with our soloists; more info coming soon!

Please note that you will purchase all scores you need during registration. The score for the opera choruses is not yet available, but will be distributed when it arrives to those who have paid for it when registering.

We will continue to keep protocols in place to help maintain a safe environment. All members are required to provide proof of full vaccination as part of the registration process. If you provided your information previously, you’re all set, and need not do so again. (Full vaccination is defined as having received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two weeks before the start of rehearsals.) SJSC is not requiring proof of having received a booster; should it be deemed necessary, please be advised you will be expected to comply in order to continue participating.

To register, complete the following steps:

STEP 1: Complete and submit the online registration form. Include your proof of full vaccination, if you have not done so before. (See Step 3 below.)

STEP 2: Submit your payment for tuition, and music, by one of the following methods:
a. Register and pay online by credit card using Stripe; or
b. Submit a check and your printed registration confirmation form by mail to: SJSC, 1100 Shasta Avenue, SJ 95126.
c. Submit your printed registration confirmation and contact your bank to set up use of your bank’s Bill Pay service.
d. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, download and complete the application form, and submit by mail: SJSC, 1100 Shasta Avenue, SJ 95126.

STEP 3: Download and upload additional forms as required:
a. If you are submitting proof of vaccination, create and upload a Word or PDF document, and follow the instructions for attaching it to your registration form.
b. If you are a new member, download and complete the Photo Release Form, and submit by mail: SJSC, 1100 Shasta Avenue, SJ 95126.
