SJSC is pleased to present its SJSC On Tour virtual performance featuring the songs performed in many parts of the world: Australia, Russia, France, Germany, and Italy, to name a few destinations, as well as to New York, Washington D.C. and the Missions of California.

Wherever the location, these songs cover a spectrum of genres: classical gems, spirituals, and historical America, new works and old representing the vibrant choral culture and a sharing of our moments of connectedness, laughter, humor, and joy.

Included in this Tour Package is a very special piece, a newly commissioned work by local composer Deke Sharon – America in Song!* This original song provides a vivid experience across many cultures that have contributed to America’s essence, providing a loving salute to Our home as we celebrate the connection that music can bring through touring Our world.

Thank You to Julian Brown and Tamami Honma, Cal Arte Productions, for their work on the production of SJSC On Tour.

* In partnership with Classical Movements, as part of the Eric Daniel Helms New Music Program,
America in Song is jointly commissioned by a consortium of choruses
to benefit the programs and services of Chorus America.

Silicon Valley Arts Coalition (SVAC) has released its Virtual Arts Panorama, a curated collection of micro concerts performed in a concert hall setting, at the Hammer Theatre, while complying with all safety standards during production including distancing, group size, and adhering to all guidelines and restrictions.

The Arts Panorama is a showcase to keep Silicon Valley’s local performing arts accessible and engage new on-line audiences while creating visibility for nine SVAC member groups. Bringing together the experience to play and share music, SVAC presented Mission Chamber Orchestra, San José Wind Symphony, Nova Vista Symphony, South Bay Philharmonic, and South Bay Guitar Society with video submissions by Lyric Theatre, Mission Valley Chorus, San José Symphonic Choir, and the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Harp Society.

The San José Symphonic Choir contributed Opferlied – “Song of Offering”, a beautiful and rarely performed work by Beethoven. Cal Arte & SJSC present this performance of his final arrangement, composed in 1824.

All singers and players recorded their parts in isolation and the results were mixed to create this virtual performance featuring mezzo soprano Liliane Cromer, members of the San José Symphonic Choir and the Cal Arte Chamber Orchestra and dedicated to Maestro Leroy Kromm who provided the inspiration for this project.
