Expectations

Our choir works best with energy and input from everyone. Here's what we need from you:

Your Musical Skill
Plan to spend time at home getting familiar with the music. This saves much time and repeated effort at rehearsals, and gives us a chance to work on the dynamics that make an exciting sound. "Woodshedding" sessions are held occasionally when passages prove especially difficult.

Your Attendance

Section administrators will check attendance each week. The attendance sheets are used to create the choir listing in the concert programs. If you will be unable to attend a particular rehearsal, please call your section administrator and let them know. If you miss more than 2 rehearsals, you will need to get Maestro Kromm's permission to sing in the upcoming concert. Dress rehearsals with orchestra are particularly critical. If you miss any of these, you may sing the concert only with the director's permission.
Rehearsals
Mondays 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Westminster Presbyterian Church Parish Hall 1100 Shasta Ave (Shasta at the Alameda), San Jose, CA

·Please arrive on time for rehearsals. If you can, please come early and help set up chairs.
·At the door, pick up:
·Your name tag. This helps us to get to know each other, and helps the section administrators take attendance.
·Concert flyers (for distribution) or handouts, if any.

·Do not talk during rehearsals. You may notice that the people who talk during rehearsals are the same people who ask questions about what was just explained.
·Bring a pencil and mark your score with notes from Leroy. If he is working with a section of the choir other than your own, please just follow along in your score.
·Please do not wear any perfumes, after shaves, lotions, or scented hair spray on rehearsal or concert days. You may not notice the scent, but other people do. People who have allergies or sensitivities can become ill from these scents
·Please sign up every once in a while to bring refreshments for break. We have a dedicated group of singers who organize our break refreshments every week.

Keeping in Touch
·Announcements are e-mailed before each rehearsal
